My name is Mike Farruggio and I am asking for your support and vote as I run for City Council for our great City.
I have served you as a police officer for 25 years with our Charlottesville Police Department, 4 years as a past Planning Commissioner, and served my neighbors while on the Fry's Spring Neighborhood Association for nearly 15 years.
My desire is to serve you another four as a City Councilor! Help me and my partner, Buddy Weber, make every voice count as we put Charlottesville first!
Please visit my Issues Page to learn how I feel about many of our local concerns. This is currently a "work in progress" as I apply my values and life experience to what I learn from you and, at times, experts for each issue.
Help me to Put Charlottesville First!

Farruggio, Weber will enrich city
Even though we are lifelong Democrats, we have decided that the best way to make progress in Charlottesville is to vote for Mike Farruggio and Buddy Weber.
They are not doctrinaire ideologues; they are problem solvers. They will make decisions based on evidence, not personal predispositions. And they will not constantly play kick-the-can with decisions that are needed to move ahead.

Forget political labels and look at the candidates on their merits.
Mr. Weber exhibits a valuable combination: fiscal conservatism and a social conscience.
Mr. Farruggio brings his own wealth of experience to the race. As a city police officer for 25 years and a member of the Planning Commission for four, he knows the city and its neighborhoods like few others.

The odor from the Moores Creek Wastewater Treatment plant reaches over a mile away and it affects hundreds of homes and perhaps thousands of citizens, not to mention the thousands of drivers that are hit with this as they drive the interstate – not a very welcoming odor when you approach our fair city. We need to address this problem.
